Ticket, Booking & Refund Policy

Important final-sale, cancellation, safety and birthday booking terms.

Ticket, Party, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing the City of Great Discovery Children’s Museum. To ensure fairness and allow the museum to prepare for each visit, event and celebration, this policy applies to admission tickets, memberships, birthday parties, private events and special programming.

General Ticket Sales

All admission tickets, special-event tickets, workshops, camps, classes and program registrations are final sale, non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be resold.

After purchase, tickets cannot be exchanged for another date, transferred to another individual or refunded for change of plans, scheduling conflicts, late arrival, no-shows, weather unless the museum officially closes, illness, transportation issues or personal emergencies. Unused tickets have no cash value.

Birthday Parties: Reservation, Deposit & Balance

A completed Party Reservation Agreement, the required non-refundable deposit and museum confirmation are necessary to reserve a party date. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • The deposit is applied toward the total party balance.
  • The party date is not guaranteed until the required deposit is received and the museum confirms the requested date and time.
  • The remaining balance must be paid by the due date stated in the party agreement.
  • Failure to pay by the deadline may cancel the reservation without refund of prior payments.
  • Additional guests, upgrades, food, merchandise or services requested after booking must be paid before or at the event.

Party Cancellation & Refunds

All birthday party reservations are final sale. Deposits and payments are non-refundable, non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and not eligible for future credit.

No refund or credit is issued for illness, weather concerns, family emergencies, scheduling conflicts, transportation issues, guest cancellations, changes in attendance or dissatisfaction caused by reduced attendance. Unused portions of a party package have no cash value.

Guest Count

The final guest count must be submitted by the deadline in the party agreement. After the count is finalized, it cannot be reduced for a refund or credit. Additional guests are accepted only when space allows and all additional fees are paid.

No-Shows & Late Arrivals

Failure to arrive for a scheduled party or reserved experience is treated as a no-show. No refund, credit or rescheduling is provided. Party and event times are scheduled back-to-back; late arrival does not extend the reservation, and the event ends at the contracted time.

Arrival, Setup & Cleanup

The birthday family may arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled party time for decorating and setup unless otherwise approved. Guests should arrive at the scheduled start time. Families must remove personal decorations, gifts and belongings before leaving. Additional cleaning fees may apply for excessive mess, prohibited decorations or damage.

Decorations

Families may decorate within the reserved party area. The following are prohibited:

  • Glitter, confetti and confetti balloons
  • Open flames except birthday candles
  • Smoke machines and fog machines
  • Wall adhesives that damage surfaces
  • Nails, screws or staples
  • Silly string

Food & Beverage

Outside birthday cake and cupcakes are permitted. Other outside food may be allowed only with prior museum-management approval. Alcoholic beverages, smoking, vaping and illegal substances are prohibited anywhere on museum property.

Supervision & Safety

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. Children may never be left unattended. The museum is not responsible for injuries resulting from unsupervised play or failure to follow museum rules.

  • Running is prohibited except in designated activity areas.
  • Shoes must be worn where required.
  • Children must use exhibits as intended.
  • Staff may stop unsafe behavior immediately.
  • Failure to follow safety rules may result in removal without refund.

Damages, Conduct & Personal Property

The reserving party accepts financial responsibility for excessive damage beyond normal wear and tear, including repair or replacement costs. The museum is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings, gifts, decorations, electronics or valuables.

The museum may refuse service or end an event without refund when guests become disruptive, use abusive or threatening language, damage property, disregard safety policies or engage in illegal activity.

Photography & Video

The museum may photograph or record activities for promotional purposes. Guests grant permission for marketing use unless written notice is provided before the event. The separate digital participation waiver includes a Yes/No photo-consent selection.

Museum Cancellations

If the museum cancels an event due to a facility emergency or other circumstance within its control, guests will receive, at the museum’s discretion, a comparable rescheduled date or museum credit for the amount paid. Cash refunds are issued only where required by law.

Weather & Illness

The museum remains open during most weather conditions. Rain, snow, heat, cold and personal travel concerns do not qualify for refunds or transfers. When the museum officially closes because of severe weather or an emergency, affected guests will be contacted about available options.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of illness should remain at home. Choosing not to attend because of illness does not qualify for a refund, transfer or credit.

Chargebacks

Customers agree not to initiate chargebacks for purchases covered by this published policy. Disputed charges determined to be valid under the agreement may be subject to collection costs and restrictions on future bookings.

Force Majeure

The museum is not responsible for cancellations or interruptions caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government orders, public-health emergencies, utility outages, acts of God, labor disputes, civil disturbances or similar unforeseen circumstances. Refunds are not guaranteed.

Liability & Agreement

Participation involves normal childhood play. The reserving party assumes responsibility for themselves and their guests. The museum, its officers, employees, volunteers and affiliates are not liable for injuries, accidents, loss or personal-property damage except where required by law.

By purchasing admission, registering for a program, reserving a birthday party or booking a private event, the customer acknowledges having read, understood and agreed to this policy and the applicable terms.
